Brigham (Peter Bent) is born in Vermont.

Peter Bent Brigham arrives in Boston in 1820 and becomes a successful restaurateur and investor in real estate and railroads in Boston. He subsequently leaves a $5.3 million bequest to build a hospital 25 years after his death in 1877.*
